Can actinic lights be harmful to us?

Our new daughter was a tad jaundiced at birth and the possibility was there for awhile of having to put her under bili lights. Having tens of bulbs of all different wavelengths in the basement I couldn't help but look up the wavelength of bili lights. They're actinic! What was interesting was the info about 420-470 being harmful to humans.

FWIW I had no intention of doing home-made bili lights.

Did you find the same info on other websites and other sources or did you only look at wikipedia?

not sure how harmful the lights are, but it works becuase bilirubin has a peak absorption at 458nm's which causes it degrade
