MR - Please help with Set up - Free Beer!

Hey MRs,

I recently purchased a used 240 gal acrylic fish tank with two corner overflows.

I am in need of setup help and planning!!!!

I have no idea what plumbing equipment I need to buy, as this is my first drilled tank. I currently have a new wet/dry, therefore I need to figure out what bulk heads to purchase, what pump would be best, and someone to help with setup!

I live on 42nd Street and 11th Ave, so if ANYONE is willing to come by and lend a helping hand in a) planning b) installation, Beer and Pizza will be on me!

If I can get a couple of members interested, hopefully I could have everyone over on the same night! My building has a cool roof deck to hang out on! Also, people just interested in hanging out, come on ovaaaaa!

You're right by Manhattan Aquariums, they're on 37th between 10th & 11th ave. It may cost you some money but they're right there and this is a big tank and you want to set it up right. They have all the plumbing parts you'll need. Also if you have problems they can come by fast.

A few things you would need is....

PVC Cutter

Slip on Ball Valve(s)

Union

Pvc tubing

PVC Primer/Glue

Misc elbows for routing the plumbing. Good to really plan out how you want to do your plumbing before you start on the mission. This will save many a headaches later on down the line in case you were planning on adding anything else.
Use metal hangers to route your idea before going forward that way you can get what you need one time...

Thank you for the suggestion, fully agree. Unfortunately, I am having trouble mapping out the tubing and flow setup...

On a slightly different note... If you're planning a full blown reef tank, you may want to consider a sump rather than a wet dry. It tends to make plumbing easier as well.

Thanks, much appreciated! Yes there is free parking all around after 6! You can even park infront of the building, the doorman always watches my visitor's cars.
