after 3 months cyano free it has returned.i have been so dilagent on keeping the tank clean and not overfeeding or giving the tank to much light.got a vortech for flow and kept the 2 koralia 2s going as well.been dosing special blend every week during water changes and dont you know it still returned.what the hell am i doing freaking wrong.

James, cyano is a bacteria and has been around for millions of years. I sincerely doubt you will ever be totally rid of it, so you will probably have to settle for controlling it.

Get yourself some Special Blend and get it under control :)

I was told that Long Island has high silicate in the tap water that can cause cyno. Try getting a Hi silicate membrane for your Ro/di. I did this when I had cyno and kept adding Special Blend and have not seen cyno for 4 weeks. Also I stoped using flake food and use pellets.
