Just ordered my Bubble King Delux 300 External for my 620g system. Figured its worth the $2,300 :Yikes:. I am taking my time and doing this baby right. Tank is 31H X 64L X 49 D. Whew also thinking of going with 6- 400 Watt halides, PFO ballasts and 8 - 39 Watt VHO actinics.

I'm running 3- 250W 12K bulbs with Lumenarc and I have no issues with coral survival and growth.
I supplement the MH with 4- 3' 39 W actinic T5's
400 give off a lot of heat and so far my tank has done real well (2 years now)
my photo period is 5-6 hours daily
T5's run 8 hours

I love it....Big is great....I happen to love 400 watt radiums but If I was doing it all over I would use led now. The time is now....with that being said I currently have 4- 250wat 20k reeflux that do a great job on my tank and the depth is 30". Good luck with your build....

stay with 400w, I see faster growth then 250w but if electric and chiller is a big deal go 250w

i have the bk 250 i love this skimmer but if u going to go 620 shouldnt u get a bigger skimmer?

Thanks guys, I also have 2- 1hp Oceanic Chillers, one is working on my existing system and is only a year old, and I have a brand new chiller, 1hp still in the box ready for the new system, when I break down my 225 the old shiller will be plumbed in as well for back up. So Im not worried about the heat. New tank will be inclused in a custom built wall unit, so over the lights I will have a seriuos Fantech 400cfm fan wired into the relay for the halides. The fan will then dump the hot air into the wet room or outside,what ever I perfer. I will document this build with plenty of pictures so I can get everyones advice. :scratch:

i have the bk 250 i love this skimmer but if u going to go 620 shouldnt u get a bigger skimmer?

the external 300 handles up to 793 gallons so Im covered. I also spoke to tech support before ordering and they said this baby is plenty big so no issues there. I will still have my old skimmer (Life REEF 36H) that I can use if I feel its needed

Just finished the tie in and she is skimming. I am amazed at the body of this beast,its huge and full of bubbles
