Pump Help

I was to change out my little giant pump from my sump to a Blueline aquatics Velocity T4 pump. My little giant is 2.5 years old and too powerful for my return sump. I use the pump to simultatiously return water to my tank and into the protein skimmer. I have a 55 gallon with the usual petland metal frame. The sump sits on the little level below it. What do you all think. Can I do this?

i have a velocity t4 for sale what size little giant would it replace

I already have a t4, but it is not treaded. my little giant outflow os threaded. Any suggestions on how to thread the t4. The little giant came pre-threaded.

i used barbed fittings and stainless steel hose clamps with braided flex pvc tubing. all of these items can be found in home depot.

if its a standard size (ie 1/2" or 3/4") you can buy a slip fit to threaded bushing from home depot and just glue it onto the pumps outflow.

thamks everyone for the help. You all have been very helpful. I went to Home depot and got everything I need only to come home and forget the silicone!!! :banghead: It looks like this should work!!! I'm very excited.

I hope youplan on using the glue for the fittings and the plumbing? Please say you are!

I Use the silicone to waterproof the hoses at their ends. I should use this and not something else right?

If you glueing PVC together with it, then you shouldnt be using it. For glueing PVC together go get some PVC Primer and PVC Glue and you'll be good to go without any leaks. Great part is it drys almost instantly.
