i have a deep sand bed. macro algae(cheato, caulerpa), tons on pods, micro stars, bristle worms, nassarious snalls, hermits.. and some LR..

i dont think you will benifit any more than if you had a 5-6 in.. what size fuge do you have? and what is the dimensions of the DSB? mine is abt 18 by 24 by 5in deep.. and i have abt 14in of water on top of it

and y do you want to go 8in deep? guess if you think abt it the ocean is one big DSB, so going deeper wont hurt but dont know f its nesasary

i heard that pulsing xenia is a really good neutrient absorber to let grow in a fuge.. so it wont overtake your display tank.
