whats a good atinic td bulb to get

i just installed 2 48 inch t5 atanic bulbs into my canopy i was hoping to get a little blue color in the tank with my 250 14k metal halides but there almost unnoticable the bulbs are suppossedly @ months old they are icecaps can anyone recomend anything better which will give me more blue

You can also try Wavepoint bulbs... i bought 2 actinics when i was at a petco. They are pretty blue. I definitely liked those...

Not sure what MH's you're using, nor how old they are, but if you felt the compunction to change them out too, you could easily use new Phoenix 250w DE bulbs to go with some D & D Giesemann T5 Actinic+ or Pure Actinic.

With that combination of MH & T5, you'll certainly get the 'pop' you seem to be searching for.
