Clueless about LEDs...

Hey, I want to setup a Solana 34g with LEDs that are strong enough to grow acros but dont want to spend $1000. I'm seriously clueless when it comes to LEDs and thought Id never even bother with them 'til now. Any suggestions? I want a 20k look; that's all the help I can give. sorry.

for what i know led produces less heat ,cost of replacin bulbs is less and u have the opt to put up to 20k just the price is:knockedou

do you know the dems of the tank? It will not cost you 1000 dollars for what you are looking for. I Would say int the 300 dollar ball park range.

could get the 12" AI for around 650, has all the bells and whistles and they say it'll cover up to 24". I plan on getting it later on when I have my tank.

I have the solana with a led system. It is more than enough for lps and softies and I'm sure sps would be fine on the top. I got it in a group buy from bsled.com for 250 shipped. I would suggest the one I got or a maxspect fixture. You probably couldn't go wrong with either. I would say the maxspect would be the way to go.

hey will, talk to alan from reefs creation, a vendor here, he has the maxspect on his frag tank. i saw the unit-- looks pretty good. i think it's better (design wise...no data...still testing mine) than the one i got from rc cheap chinese led group buy.

maxspect 160 would work or you could get a diy led kit as well

Talk to wingo he might be able to help you.. He made me my led's and so far after 2 weeks everything looks good and showing signs of growing.. the new sps I put in show signs of liking the light polpys are open after the first day.
