just got the hanna checker for phosphate. it's awesome, quick and very easy to use.

I also bought it. However, i'm concerned with it, I tested the same tubes 4 times and got 4 different, very different readings. Even the manual says its +/- 0.04. Thats not good when I'm looking for values in the 0.03 range.

i did several tests and got the same outcome each time. i know bubbles, debris and fingerprints all compromise the accuracy. i'm happy with it and it beats mixing chemicals like a mad scientist.

What i do is use RO/DI water to calibrate it then have my DT water in the other valve ready to test and get a good reading all the time.

lol I had the same problem when I first got the meter too but then I used both tubs and made sure I cleaned it real good.. and then i finally found the time... now it works great and I happy with the meter.. still waiting for my shipment to come in with the powder..

I agree. Quick dissolving tablets might be better because there's always some dust of powder left in the packets. I'm wondering if it takes that into account.. or how much margin of error that may cause

That's why you should use both of their glass tubes, one for tank water, the other for tank water + reagent. Start the test once the reagent fully dissolved. This way, you wouldn't have to rush before the the unit shuts off after 2 minutes.

Thats my biggest concern as well.

That is my method. No rushing but still very tedious.
