that cloudy film on the top of the water is on my DT? It seems like a clear oil slick. I moved it around to clear it up.

I get that im my tank 2 seems to happen if i add chemicals to the tank and my skimmer is off

its lack of water movement on top u can point a nozzel or powerhead towards it or u can put in a small air pump with air stone but i donot like to do that in saltwater try to get some kind of surface skimmer

Surface skimmer would be perfect , but if it is a saltwater tank get a protein skimmer would be better as it does two job.

Do you feed alot of meaty foods? A skimmer would definitely help too

I have a skimmer no livestock yet. Ill point the overflows a little up to cause minor waves.
