ESV Sand - To rinse or not to rinse?

Hey Reefers,

I am using new ESV sugar fine sand in my new setup. Do I need to rinse this brand of sand before placing into the tank?

Any thoughts or input would be much appreciated.

Definitely rinse. I used the coarse sand and it was quite dusty. I rinsed it several times.

I would not rinse the fine - coarse for sure.

I will defer to House as I have only used the coarse sand from ESV.

i rinsed the fine myself and had alot of dust, i would suggest that you mix this sand atleast 50-50 with some other sand, me as well as a few others noticed this sand becomes very hard and is uptaking alkalinity
