I have spray painted a lot of tanks in the past. I tape cardboard on top of the tank and around the edges. I use normal krylon paint and it worked great. The fussion paint is great for pvc... but I did not like it for the back of a tank. Unless its very clean...it leaves small circle unpainted spots. No matter how many times you go over it, it will not stick. I did not have that issue with the normal brand. Also...do very light coats when you start. If it starts to drip its ok. When you finish you will not see it. Just take your time. It will turn out fine.

Honestly though... just buying a roller and paint is much faster with same results. Normal paint about 2-3 coats and your good. Spray paint about 8-10. Same results... but normal paint you have a much larger selection!

Good luck with it!

I have used krylon fusion with great results. just clean the glass with alcohol and cover the spots you don't want painted and spray.

for my present tank however, because of weight, I used this with a foam roller. three coats and done.
