re circulating skimmer question

what is this? what are if any benefits to it? is it better then a normal skimmer? if so how? if i was to get the g4 asm skimmer is it worth it to modify it to this recirculating skimmer??

definitly! the ASM's work great as a recirculating skimmer.
I have a G4 with sedra 9000 works awesome on my 180 when I upgrade to the 450 I'm going to do the recir mod w/ gate valve and feed it with a genX submersible. There's alot of bang for the buck there!

re-circulating gives more contact time with the water and bubbles.

it's a much more efficient design IMO.

unlike the beckett's sp? you do not need gigantic energy consuming pumps to run them.

ok so then i should get the asm g4 recirculated mods that they sell with it? THis will be funny but will it fit in my sump??

how big is your sump?
The G4 is 8" diameter 24" tall foot print is much larger due to the pump
I'm going to say you need at least 10X15 for the foot print

i believe i got that but is the recirculating part a extension making it much bigger??
