There are two things I would like to ask on this thread

First:
Picked up a salinity monitor (pinpoint) a while back, but it wasn't calibrated. isgon26 finally got me the calibration fluid. I have tried calibrating it but the meter never stays constant. It usually jumps .03 constantly. Is this normal or did I purchase a defective unit?

Second:
Before I picked up my shipment today, went to jcolbe and picked up a temperature monitor (pinpoint). I have been using those inaccurate digital thermometers from Corallife. The coralife thermometer reads 78 degrees or so but when I hooked up the pinpoint temperature monitor it read 73 degrees and this unit was listed as brand new. I don't think there is a way to calibrate these right?

Both of them have people complaining about inaccuracy. I found buy one of those cheap glass thermometers to be sure. They are highly accurate. I've used them to check my ranco and apex.

Will I have the same coralife temp probe but I use it as my second opinion... If both of them read the same then I feel like Im okay but if one is way different then the other then I have a problem and get a third party...
