Ive always had trouble with start up with these pumps, but was usually fine once they got going. All of a sudden, it just stopped working and I tried soaking every part in vinigar to get off any debrit that might be messing with pump (with no success). I can get it moving a bit if I hit it, but it usually stops pretty soon after. Does anyone have any thoughts? experience? or a suggestion where I can have fixed?

Thats the red cap which goes between the shaft and pump. The shaft should fit inside the red cap perfectly
the cap which goes between the shaft and the pump is lodged in the pump and difficult to remove. I have attempted tweezers as well numerous other tools with no luck. Could this be the problem? Perhaps some debrit on shaft and or cap is causing so much friction that its setting it into "shut off" mode

As long as the cap is in there properly, it should be fine. If the cap is sideways or something where the shaft doesn't sit inside the cap, then its taking up too much room
