Filter Sock Question

I purchased a filter sock setup a week ago and I noticed now that the water seems to be overflowing. I pulled it out and hand cleaned it. It seems to be overflowing a little bit also. What should I do about that?

Either it has too much flow going through it or it's just clogged,try a new one.My 2 cents.Others will chime in

Longer filter socks last longer.... I have to clean mine like every 4-5 days... flow rate is 650gph (maybe less).

Most likely its clogged. Try putting in the washing machine, it might get it cleaner than hand washing it.

Why wouldnt you wash them? I wash mine all the time in the washing machine. No detergent, just bleach and hot water. Works great.

I switch mine out every 2 days and every 2 weeks I put them in with just bleach.

I hand clean mine in hot water. I swish them around in a 5 gallon bucket as hard as i can, rinsing them over and over. it might be time consuming but i have been using the same three socks for like a year and a half now.

+1 . I do the same flip it inside out and throw them in the washer machaine with bleach and hot water. Sock look brand new . I also run it a second time just in the rise and spin cycle .

+1 turn inside out in washing machine with bleach.
It helps to cut the tab on the inside, unless you need it.

remember to buy usa made fsi it is good brand my 150 gal with 55 gal refugim i use 7 inch ring and 16 inch long it last me 6 to 7 day,i take old one out soak in overnight dish washing fluid not dish washer fluid. dish washing fluid with lemon next day with kitchen sink force wash it cleans good and i reuse it for 6 days with 3 times feeding. and let it get dry for week i have 6 to 8 sack and it will take 2 to 3 week for that sack to be use

Inside out, in the washer, white cycle (hot/hot). Then I soak in RO and air dry.

My skimmer goes nuts every time I install a new sock.
