Question, 1 Return Pump for 2 Tanks

If i wanted to set up two 40 gallon breeders using one sump that has 1" drain and 3/4" return tube, can i connect 1x Quiet One 3000 pump to two of these tanks? or should i be using a bigger Quiet One pump? OR should i be using two Quiet One 3000 pumps? The return won't be done in piping, it will be tubing that fits 3/4"... someone please, please answer this question, thank u :tongue1:

actually nevermind... i think having two seperate sumps are better. if one crashes then both crash... just the thought of it gives me the chills.

Assuming each breeder has a 1" drain, they should each be good UPTO 600gph each.

Quiet One 3000 Flow

I'd imagine you would get about 300 GPH per tank or less.
2 Quiet One 3000 may be just slightly over sized, but doable.

Do you plan on having other flow in each breeder tank (power heads / closed loop)?

To be energy efficient and create less heat, why would you use 2 pumps vs one that's slightly bigger?
Look into a more reliable submersible like an Eheim 1262 and run it through a manifold.
