wondering what you guys feel is the best way to get oxygen into your system, i know alot of people are gunna say ozone generator, but im looking for a more cost friendly solution to this
suction it good and bury it thats the key..you get nice big bubbles and it helps keep it down ..2 birds ONE stone lol if it comes up you can always add extra suction cups
Neither does bubbles. You need to add O2 at the molecular level. That comes from increased surface agitation. Lowering the temp will allow the water to absorb more O2 also.
To answer your question the only real way to get increase O2 is the socting oxydator.. It's an oxygen reactor that keeps O2 levels at 100%, while normal systems only stay at around 65 to 75% and closer to 80% if you have a window open, a small room, and it's around 75 degrees outside,,lol.. I've ran one for a while and noticed a huge difference especially when I had the mah mahi in in tank with no power heads for a week..
im assumeing low oxygen levels in the tank will have an effect on inhabitants behavior, all my fish just seem really lazy.
thanks for all the input so far i angled both power heads towards the top of the tank.
make sure you test your water as well Bilbo.. it could be something else, from here it looks like you're correct about the oxygen levels being low... but it could be anything from an ammonia/nitrite spike/high temperatures/etc.
my levels are ok except my nitrates are alittle high but theyve always been on the high side, did a 40 gallon w/c last week, temp's been pretty steady round the 80 mark
