Question: Will Peppermint shrimp eat Zoos

So I go out and come home and I look at my tank and my zoos are all closed during their lighting period. I added a new inhabtant yesterday a Peppermint shrimp. I'm wondering is he eating my zoo pods, I've also noticed some pods missing off of the colony, everywhere I read i says these guys are reef safe and are peaceful any ideas :banghead:

It's weird man, they look all closed up and some of the pods are missing :-\. I trust the guys from Manhattan Aquariums where I got the shrimp so I'm sure it's peppermint, it looks peppermint and not camel back.:irked:

If not well fed they will munch on polyps. They also walk on the polyps causing them to close up as well. So you have ot keep a close eye to make sure they are just walking, not munching as well.

make sure there is no nudibranch in your tank I just found two that hitchhiked from another members frags. they were eating my zoos

No green eyes, black eyes. I think the culprit may have been my perc clown as I saw him knock over the frags and rub it on some rock, I think he was trying to play with them... I found the pods on the crushed coral bed. Silly fish.

5.5g Nano tank was told that the coral would be better to avoid certain collapses. If I'm wrong I'll just move my livestock to the extra cycled med tank I have, get some sand and cycle it with the rock that's in there now.

Yea that's why I said I'd move em for a bit until the mini cycle ended

Some peppermints will eat corals. I have had frags of scans wiped out by peppermints.....I would remove it if possible, b/c it's not worth the risk. But that's me. I also think that in a tank that small the peppermints damage isuch more noticeable, which makes evenore sense to get it out.
