if u have installed IIS, make sure you don't have any firewall rules enabled that would block port 80 (inbound to the PC/IIS)

I looked at my windows firewall and domain, public and private inbound connections are all blocked by default, I allowed them all and it still said IIS wasn't installed. Now I have them all blocked again. Any other suggestions?

Hi everyone....I have windows 7 and I'm trying to get aquanotes up and running but it says that IIS isn't installed every time I click on 'enable web'. I turned every IIS feature on and it still says it's not installed. Can someone help me out here please. Thanks in advance, Fortunato

What happens if you try to go to http://localhost ?

Do you get anything?

Have you gone onto Reef Central and looked at the Neptune Forum in their forum section? If not, go look in there, as suggested on an earlier post here, the answer to your issue is almost guaranteed to be in there :)

None of those things worked guys....

And when I go to http://localhost it takes me to the IIS website but that doesn't do me any good

So IIS is installed, and functioning.

What version of AquaNotes? Here's a blurb from the 3.0 manual:

This version of AquaNotes is designed for 32-bit operating systems running WIndows
95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000, ME, and XP.
Maybe they are hoping you'll buy version 3.5.

Did you follow these steps in the manual?

2. On the server open the Config->Options window and select the TCP/IP tab. In the
Web Access section check the Web Server enable checkbox. Select the OK button.
If prompted for a login and password name enter the user name and password of the
user that AquaNotes should run as. NOTE it takes about 5 seconds for AquaNotes
to configure the web server initially and AquaNotes may be unresponsive during this
time.

3. It is highly recommend that you also check the 'File->Run As Service' to ensure that
AquaNotes starts running even if no one has logged into Windows. If prompted for
a login and password name enter the user name and password of the user that
AquaNotes should run as (the login and password must match those that were
entered in step 2).

4. On the Passwords tab modify the access permissions of the guest and admin users to
suite your preferences.
If all else fails...
