2nd day of new fire shrimp, and he is doing great. I let him acclimate a little longer. Coris wrasse is not picking at the 2 of them. Everyone seems to be happy except for my watchman goby. I bought him a week ago and I only saw him the 2nd day. I have no idea where he is. Maybe someone can intervene. There is no carcus laying in the sand anywhere and I checked all around my tank and nothing. He can't be hiding for this long can he?

Thank you guys for the help

How big is the tank?

What other livestock?

Is the tank covered? He would only need a tiny opening to get out.

I'd overfeed, and feed smaller food than usual. Cyclops, very finely chopped mysis, the smallest pellet you can find, etc.

With any luck he'll start to show himself soon.

Another good reason to QT. Gives fish a chance to acclimate to new surroundings (you), water, food, etc.

If you have a thin layer of substrate, try looking at your tank from underneath if you can. You might see him from the underside of his chosen burrow.

The tank is a 90 gallon I have decorative fire fish, 2 clowns, coris wrasse, chromis, snails, hermits, 4 mexican turbos. I have a power compact fixture with a canopy, My substrate is 3 to 4 inches.

Thank you triple T.

My parameters have been great. Just makes me a little nervous because I am trying to make everything right.

The YWG can hide for WEEKS without being seen. Besides, with shrimp, crabs, and snails as part of your cuc you most likely wouldn't see a carcass after longer than 2-3 hrs.

After adding some new critters to your tank the YWG might be hiding because of the new residents. Keep an eye out for him. He could very easily turn up.

Thank you guys! I waited an hour this time for the fire shrimp and he is doing great. Hopefully YWG will turn up. I even looked beneath the tank and looked for little tunnels and nothing. Maybe he is the many caves that I have for them. I will keep you guys posted when he shows up.
