Is it possible the clown jumped into the overflow and got sucked in and died?
I feel terrible. Should I get another one so that the one clown doesn't feel lonely?
Thanks Russ!
Should I get another one?
I am going to get a different strainer, because they can slip through. I have a 90 gallon, with coris wrasse, chromis, decorative fire, yellow watchman, and another clown. I bought them together about 10 days ago, not sure if either is male/female.
If the clown you have is small, buy a bigger one.
If the clown you have is large, buy a small one.
Sorry, I have to disagree.
Under no circumstance should you ever add a clown larger than the one you have. Every single clown is born as a male. The most aggressive, largest clown will morph into a female. Even if a clown appears small in your tank, but it is the only one, it could have morphed into a female already. There is no turning back. Once it morphs to female it cannot go back to being male. If you add another clown that is larger and it has morphed into a female you can possibly have two females. Not the situation you want.
