well the BK250 is doing 396gph of air which is 1499l/ph and 24.983l/pm of air. now i need the air intake of the deltec and the tubing size and volume. one thing i do know is the deltec is recirculating and the BKinternal is not.

the performance of the deltec might be higher then this BK250 no lie, but it will use double of the electric which is really not mich of the big deal, one recirculating and two you dont need the difuser plate since the GPH of H20 is so low bearly creates the current.

Steve go stare at Drew's 702 for an hour and then go stare at Mshur's BK for an hour. Both kick a$$ but the BK is more impressive.

would you consider a 12" diameter Dual beckett 25" high for a fraction of the cost? I have one for sale brand new $500

Ive seen both skimmers in action. They both kick some serious ass. Its hard to say which is better because the deltec was dialed for dry skimming and the bk was for wet. I dont think it would be fair to either skimmer to just compare purely the numbers because of the difference in construction. Its a tough choice to make.

Being that the contenders are deltec and BK, the money issue is obviously not as pressing or the love for the tank is just beyond incredible. I have owned several Deltecs in the past, and must say that deltec brings a lot of satisfaction.

All that being said as much as I love the deltecs, i like the looks of the bk more. But dollar for dollar, I think the deltec will bring you more.

As far as customer service goes, Doug from Deltec is hard to beat. You get him personally every time. Royal Exclusive however is present only by distributor in this country.

Oh dammit, I dont know. Youre just confusing me. I want both.... Couldnt you just throw a seaclone into the equation so I have something negative to say? :icon16:

This definitely did not help!

Rich,

Lifereef is keeping up, but sometimes my water is cloudy (not crystal clear) and wanted to supercharge it a little. I am hedging since the tank is coming back a little but had .03 phosphates I was hoping to blow off with a more powerful skimmer. Think it could handle it? Sorry for hijacking StingNYC - I'd get the BK if I could afford it. I have the roome :)

Jim I think you should consider this skimmer for your tank

The SK 1220. For the money I don't know of a skimmer that will even come close to it's performance
