Bought a tank and how do i go about resealing it..
Well it looks like when they were scraping the tank to clean it. they got some of the end silcone off. Just wondering should i put more silcone on top of it ? or what ???

They sell aquarium sealant. Before you try to reseal/touch up the current seal do a water test to see if it holds water. Fill it up !!!

I think its more prudent to buy a new tank, unless it was custom,

you have to remove the prior seal completely and start over...PITA

The only way to be sure it is resealed is to take the tank apart, scrape off all of the old sealant making sure none is left at all. After doing that with aquarium sealant place a bead on each surface you scraped and cleaned putting it together again. Let the tank sit for a few days to make sure the sealant is dry. Leak test the tank, make sure there are no leaks if there are you are going to start from step 1. If there are no leaks be happy there aren't and pray that the seals hold for as long as you have water in it. Or you could buy a new tank and be happy to know that if the seals fail the company has a warranty
