They are cave basslets - hence the hiding in the caves - they are good in species reef tanks and often don't live too long in captivity as their tank mates stress them out.

Yeah I knew they hung out in caves I guess I was hopeing it would pick a nice cave that I could see into! Lol

IMO, these guys need either very mellow tankmates or a tank to themselves as the least amount of harassment will sent them scurrying into the deepest, darkest, dash hole provided them. I have maintained a Candy Basslet in a 40g breeder for nearly 5 years now but for 95% of that time it has been the only fish in it. Consequently, it has lost its propensity for shyness (until I want to photograph it, of course) and is front and center quite a bit. Good luck.
