With the tang in there I wouldn't add any more fish. You are on the high side of bioloads and tangs need lots of swimming room and are nitrate factories.

I would go with another small tang... They are great algae grazers and fun to watch! The fuzz is right with the bioload tho.. Nitrate sponge is my best friend. When it gets to big sell it and start small again

Also keep in mind that conspecifics will fight and hurt each other seriously in a territory battle.

Cardinal Fish.
its on the small side
friendly, minds its own business
you should have nice rock work where the fish can hide if needed

I wouldn't add any more Tangs to a 75, so those are out. Not to mention you said "on the small side".

I also wouldn't add fish that you know you'll have to relocate, or add chemical filtration in an attempt to preserve water quality. But again, not a problem based on your preference for a smaller fish.

More $$$ doesn't = better. Although it will widen your choices.

Since you want reef-safe, and on the small side...

Scooter dragonet: spends all day hunting for copepods, then buries himself 90% to sleep, eyes popping out of the sand. Eats sinking pellets, mysis, copepods. Other fish tend to completely ignore him.

Chromis: I'd get a school of 5. They bully each other a little bit, but if there are 5, individuals tends to get bullied less. Look great under good lighting. Provide lots of hiding places.

Yasha goby, but only if you have a covered tank. They can be shy, but I don't think the fish you have will keep them in hiding. Buy as a goby/pistol shrimp pair to see their symbiotic behavior.

if tank is covered then any fairy or flasher wrasse, awesome personality, open swimmer's. could also go with a pygmy angel. i have a pair of yashi gobies and all they do is sit in front of their cave, a tailspot blenny would be nice but might have issue with the midas. chromis would kill each other off eventually

I love tangs, but like most here they are right! 75 Gallon is enough for a tang...LOL

In the wild a blue hippo can grow up to 12" would be unfair to restrict them from having room to grow!

Wrasse: mysteri, radient or a pair of "pink margin fairy"

Angels: Bellus, Watanabei or Japanese Swallowtail

The candy basslet isn't a cheap or very hardy fish normally. Might want to hold off on a new fish for a bit to help the new guy settle in...
