What is your stand set up like?

I am going to be building a new stand for my 120 gallon and I am concerned about how I should set up my stand as far as electronics go. I've been thinking about installing a piece of plywood in between my 30 gallon sump and all of my electronics. Would that work? I was going to install shelving on the piece of plywood or just screw the strips, etc. right on the separator and drilling holes off to the side of the plywood so I could just run the cords to the sump, etc.
