Is/has anyone using/used Reef Crystals Salt Mix?

I used Oceanic before and wanted to try Reef Crystals because Oceanic is so hard to find - I did a 1 month gradual change. I'm not liking how it becomes cloudy in the mix bucket when Oceanic would have a clean dissolve. What is your experience with this particular salt mix? Are your livestocks thriving in it?

I have used Reef Crystals for the last two years and it has worked fine for me. When I first add the salt to my mixing pail it clouds the water, but clears up shortly after. Also, it does leave a residue inside my mixing bucket. However, these issues have not affected the chemistry of the saltwater once fully mixed IME.

thanks captain, I'm glad you've brought up your experience because I was thinking of just finishing this tub and switching back to oceanic. I'll continue on with this mix and see how my tank reacts to it in the long run.

I have used Reef Crystals for years. Excellent salt and is good price compared to other salt mixes. I do find it is more cloudy than other salts but as stated it does clear up.

When, some of the sites compared what is inside, it has done well against other products. Not sure where I read this.

I use to use this exclusively, but when I tried to buy it in bulk, I got a better deal from another brand. Most of the time, you will find, that most brands of salt are considered fine. Some have more trace elements than others, that's where you have to decide which way to go.

I have no problem with this salt! It is a little cloudy in the begginning, especially if you put in too much.

This is the only salt I have ever used. My past tanks have been fine and my current two tanks are doing great. I have never had issues mixing my salt either. I have a 40g garbage can I fill with ro water, then pour 40g worth of salt it, turn on my power head I put at the bottom of the can and mybe 5 minutes the most its crystal clear. No issues with it here...

Thanks guys, I've seen some pics of your tanks (had to dig on profiles) and they all look great. Yea I was looking at different trace element comparison charts, though finding one for Oceanic seems like digging a well, and I thought Reef Crystals' traces seem pretty good.

I used reefcrystals for about a year then switched to oceanic when I got 2 60 gal bags for 30$ each I was pleasantly surprised with the oceanic mix it seemed to dissolve faster but other than that I'd have to say results are the same

i have been using reef cyrtal for years and i get a brown film when i make 100gals for water changes but i read on RC that its ok just more annoying to look at
