Some of the tanks i was looking at are 36" wide

I plan on using my 24" 250w MH 14000k with dual PC bulbs.

My thought was to hang it over the tank

Would there be any issue with that? i couldn't imagine but i figure someone could give further advice

The only issue is that you would most likely have to hang it higher to get better light coverage, which means not as intense lighting.
