I have a question and WE HAD A JUMPER :(

Just bought my blue spotted jaw 2 days ago. I come home just a little while ago, fed my fish and haven't noticed my jaw come out to feed. Until I looked around and there he was on the floor :letitallo:letitallo:letitallo:letitallo

I learned my lesson!

Now I have pumping xenias and they seem to be melting (probably fish, snail, or hermits eating them) You think I can bring them back to life if I move them?

I see rocks... and some kenya trees on the upper left.

I'd also get a mesh net cover for the tank for future jumpers

Thanks Ming. The Xenias are on the kinda flat piece of rock. Looks like 4 little dots
I will keep that in mind in the future about the netting. But I may not consider jumpers anymore

I just just just had a problem with Anthelia melting... did a water change, replaced carbon and dosed a tiny bit of Iodide and they are coming back. Not sure which of the three made the biggest difference, but I am guessing the carbon was the key.

The Xenia are probably toast unfortunately. For a fairly common coral they tend to either prosper greatly in a tank, or die, often for no apparent reason.

Sorry abotu your fish. Please do keep in mind that ALL fish can be jumpers for one reason or another. True many are flat out considered jumpers but any fish that gets startled can attempt to jump from a tank, remember, they do not know there is no water outside of the tank

Always best to keep a mesh cover on your tank!
