RIP Flame angel

Came home from work and noticed the flame angel on the floor. They are not known jumpers so something must have startled him. RIP "flame".

I guess it's time to cover my rimless tank......

Hey Ecfencing, sorry for your loss.. although flame angels are not "known" jumpers, they do jump! Let me share a funny story. The other day I went to pick up a flame angel from an MR buddy.. As the seller was pouring the water and fish into a bag I was holding, the flame angel flew out of his container, I believe it hit the guy in the head he said, and then about 3-4 feet away into the guy's sump believe it or not.. I thought he just vanished, but the seller had a quicker eye than I did and saw where the little guy landed.. I couldn't believe how lucky he was to land in the sump, I was certain he landed somewhere on the floor. He scared the crap out of me because I wasn't expecting it. Superfish is currently doing well in my tank.. lol.

Thanks Pretty funny.....I think the other fish ganged up on him since I had 13 fish in the tank and well he was sort of a bully to some of the other fish in the tank which made him a target.

They all got together and said no way can we have 13 fish in this tank on Friday the 13th so flamie you've got to go....and he was squeezed out..

Without a suicide note I think this was the most likely scenario...Now the question is who started it...Charlie the Tuna Vinny the Schnoz...maybe even Dr. Ben Sobel but I may never know.

Sorry to hear that! Flame Angels are beautiful! I have one of my own, that I will keep a close eye on.
