Hey everyone, I've seen some really nice BIG tanks around here on MR. How about some nanos?

Here's mine. It's a 6 gallon eclipse with a coralife 96W quad with a SunPaq 50/50 (10K/460nm)bulb. It's got 12lbs LR, about 1.0in sand, and a palm filter to keep bags of phosban and carbon (I keep two bags, and change each on alternating weeks). There's some Caulerpa mexicana. I also drip kalk at 3tsp/gal and supplement with baking soda and CaCl2. Also a Hydor pico pump at 150gph. Total flow is ~30X volume.

I have various zoanthid colonies, Pterogorgia sp., Xenia, A.horrida, A.nana, A.humilis, (3)M.capricornis(lime green, dk green/purple rim, and orange), (2)M.digitata (orange polyp, purple polyp),S.hystrix, Pachyclavularia violacea ... NO FISH!

It looks like a frag farm right now, it's a young tank, but I think it will look nice when it grows in a bit more. Please excuse the bleached birdsnest, it didn't like the last bulb change at all..

Mr. Anderson, very nice clean nano although you should localize that xenia before it covers every last inch of rock
No fish is the way to be in a small tank IMO since they really can create a "mess" in such a small water volume. By "mess" I mean phosphates, nitrates, alages etc...

Here is a pic of the center of my 65 gallon nano, but it's a lttle too big according to Jennie's standards :D The tank is no where near this blue in person though

Rich, it that the efflo bottom center? Your tank looks completely different,
, you did quite a lot of rearranging.

I hope you put mixed reef on the poll, since I still see a zoanthid or two, ;) .

LOL Shaun, I thought about putting mixed reef because of the left over zootasia and the rics from you but since the tank is like 95% SPS I figured what the heck, and votes SPS only :D That is the efflo in the bottom center.

I did change the reef quite a bit as I'm getting ready for the big move. All the less colorful stuff is gone and all the little colorful frags that I want to grow up stay

here's a full tank shot so you can see the BIG difference since last time. This tells it all.

Even if he is using a foam back-drop it looks like it takes up alot of space and since most corals will come on rock it makes it hard to add corals.

I have the same problem as I used some piece of coral to prop up some rock which makes my tank look like it has alot of rock but it really doesn't. But by proping up the rocks it has caused me problems as when I've gone to added corals, that have been attached to rock, I've had trouble getting them into the tank or I've run out of room.

Exactly :D

Most of the 80lbs of rock are in the sumpfugium

I just had an NJRC reefer come to pick up a coral, and he said it looked cramp in the pic, but not at all in real life. I will try to post pics from side views.

You cant really see it but there are 6 dif types of zoos spreadin on the wall. Anyway I usuallly chisel/dremel rocks down as i dont like the bulk they add, I am leaving it open for some SPS to branch out of it, Jackson your blue milli frag is doing well, chilling right on the alleged wall.
