If I had a hundred grand to build a tank....i think it would be bigger than 700 gallons.

It must be nice to buy a tank and never have to maintain it! sike! I love maintaining my tanks...gives me a sense of accomplishment not to have spikes and crashes!

I can't wait to do part two of the tank build I got from Rookie07. Hope I can do it half as nice!

200k on a tank... and thats all they have!? Jesus, they must have been importing the fish direct from their native reef's!!!

Thats just completely stupid, whoever they were buying from must have seen them coming!

In speaking with the folks at Coast to Coast aquarium when I picked up my tank... they had a 500g tank they needed to deliver to a penthouse apartment in NYC. They told me that delivery charges were about $45,000 due to the fact they needed to close the street, hire a boom lift to lift it up to the apartment. Factor in insurance cost, union laborers... I'm not surprised. Other option was to section the tank, deliver in pieces and combine onsite. Much cheaper, but will take longer... I think CTC said the owner opt for the latter option. Not to mention plumbing and electric rework... anyone that has done work in a Union only NYC building knows the cost to have a single NEMA 5-15P outlet installed.

Most of the money was spent on maintenance, and everything in and done to something in Manhattan cost a lot.. I think the tank stand alone for a tank that size is worth it.. Who wants that much water all over the place??? Maintenance on a reef is expensive if you have someone who really knows what they are doing and knows the time it takes to keep everything happy.. I say good for them, if you got it spend it..
