Detritus build up in my sump.

Hey,

Seems that every so often I have to completely remove my sump and clean out all the detritus build up. Kind of annoying to say the least especially when things are working well. Problem is that anytime my ATO kicks on it disturbs the detritus or whatever "dust" there is in the sump and it goes into my tank.

Is this normal?

Disturb it and have the skimmer do the job! I have a lot of detritus but I usually have a CUC down there too.

I get a lot in my skimmer section. I just turkey baste it and the skimmer picks it up!
