substitute for sicce pump on oct 160 skimmer?

I hate sicce pumps and there crappy start up. My OCT 160 extreme needs a new pump and id like to use another pump...Has any one heard of another pump being used thats effective without nonsense?

I saw something where you could substitute the "quiet one" 3000 for this pump, for an economical convenient variation

I think you only had problems with start up due to the mesh wheel. If you get the Purple Pin Wheel you are good to go.

get the AquaMaxx Large Red Devil Needle Wheel and matching venturi and your skimmer will turn into a beast. i did this for my sicces and found that they pulled crazy air and for the first time i skimmed dark and thick skimmate. No start up issues and less noise.

that pump is almost too much for the skimmer body as is, sicce does have 2 newer nw pumps out the 600 and the 100 which atb now use's as well

already replied, what to use, and if you are using mesh thats one of the problems on the start up
