Do you/would you drink your RO?

After Albano's enlightening post (http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/general-discussion/83511-how-many-copepods-did-u-eat-today.html) I'm more inclined to consider drinking the RO (not DI) water from my filter after the next cleaning. What do you think? Have you done it? Would you?

Some ro/di units (like mine) come with a faucet attachment for RO output so technically I'd be drinking from the faucet. Remember it's not the DI water I'm referring to.

The water is stripped of all nutrients and electrolite's, i have tried the waste water before and it taste different

Why not drink RO its like a super Brita? I normally make a couple gallons of RO water and keep one in the fridge and one on reserve.

I do when i run out of poland spring and im too lazy to go to the store late in the day. I can't drink my tap water because its not too good so RO is my best temp option.

The problem with RO water is that its too clean and some people say thats bad for you. Lack of minerals causes water to be more acidic and your body ends up pulling minerals and nutrients from other sources in your body like teeth and bones. But its 2 sided story as theres another side of people saying its great for you and saying rainwater is the purest, and people have been drinking it forever and were fine.

Anyways, i don't drink too much because i get heart burn and acid indigestion. :frown:

I heard this about DI. I know there've been threads about this topic before and most people seemed pretty sure that you shouldn't practise drinking DI water. RO should be ok though, I mean they sell RO filters for drinking water. I wanted an idea of how many persons here do drink the RO water. Remember we're not talking about the DI output.

I have the unit described below from filter direct:

RD-106, AQUARIUM REEF & HOME DRINKING 2 OUTPUTS Reverse Osmosis RO + DI SYSTEM
Overall rejection/removal rate: 98% to 99% for the Ultra-pure, 95% for the drinking water
1st stage: 5 micron sediment filter, removes sediment, rust, dirt. (replace every 6-12 month)
2nd & 3rd stage: premium grade coconut shell carbon block filter, removes chlorine, chloramines, bad taste and odor (replace every 6-12 month)
4th stage high rejection TFC-100GPD membrane, removes 95% to 98% of chemical, minerals, dissolved solids, like arsenic, lead, silica, nitrate, copper, ammonia, sodium, fluoride, etc. (replace every 12-36 month)
5th & 6th stage: de-ionized filter, further removes the mineral and chemical contents of water and achieving 99% to 100% removal rate (replace as needed, or after 600 to 1000 gallons). It comes with refillable clear casing. The DI resin inside changes color from green to dark brown when the resin is exhausted.

I have a well and only drink my ro. When I change my filters it's pure mud. Don't think cause it's well water there isn't a lot of crap in there.

Mine comes with a little hose specifically for drinking before the water goes into the DI chamber so I have drank it before

my DI tastes fine to me no after taste at all, i use to drink from before the DI side but now i drink after the DI side, the way i look at it, i get all my nutrients and minerals I need from all the food/vitamins/supplements i take.

I have a drinking kit for my RODI and since I installed it I only drink RO water. I would not drink RODI as I get aftertaste and it's that there's nothing in deionized water. RO FTW

I emailed the vendor of my ro/di filter. They said that if I hadn't been using the faucet all I had to do was flush the system a couple of times to get rid of loose carbon and I would be good 2 go!
