The SQWD will alternate the flow whereas the T fitting will allow the water to flow freely. One of the characteristics of water is that it will take the route of easiest flow. Unless the two sides are identical, which they will not be one side will get more flow than the other. The drawback of the T fitting is that it will create a "monotonous" pattern which leads to dead spots in the tank. This is remedied by powerheads inside the tank.
The disadvantage ofthe SQWD is that it creates slightly more headpressure for the pump as it alternates.
The ideal way is to couple SQWD with some powerheads in the tank.
i would take out the T and elbows and replace it with a Y if you can. all those right angles add up to more head pressure on the pump and reduce your flow.
