over flow question

I have a 175 gallon rr tank, that has 2 1" drains, and 2 3/4" returns, has anyone here tried to use all 4 for a drain, and then come back up the back with another pvc pipe for the returns. I know I could get 1200gph flow thru the 2 1" drains. I would like to get more flow, and possibly put the returns on a 4 way or 8 way oceans motion. any ideas?

I never seen it done, but in it can be...just use a pump that can match the roughly 2000gph from the overflows and be sure to caliculate the head pressure.
