Cutting skimmer cup down to fit under stand!

Ok so i cut my filter cup down from the top to fit it under my stand. Anyone every do this? i used a dremel you cant even tell looks great, my ? is does this effect my skimmers performance? i would think not just would have to clean the collection cup more often. hwtas everyones take on it?

You could always drill a 3/8" hole and put a valve, This way you could have a larger collection bucket some where else

understand but trimming down collection cup should not mess up my skimmers performance correct? i guess it will just fill faster

No it would not.
That depends on if you like to skim wet, if you skim dry it would take longer to fill up, I skim very dry and clean out my cup every 2-3 weeks

same here i skim dry wait for it to be smelly black gross smelly crap then empty, they have a seperate conatiner you can purchase that i can send the smelly stuff into a container
