10k will look yellow. Take a lok at some fw planted tanks. People say to use 10k bulbs for max plant health/ growth and it gives a yellow tint. If you're looking for a crisp white look at tank with pheonix 14k bulbs. Its what I run and it looks nice.

10k bulbs are usually white or white/yellow. You are looking for a 12k or 14k.
Ushio 14k is a nice blue/white bulb. Phoenix is nice but a little more blue.
Exactly, and sounds like exactly the bulb you are looking for. I run the Ushio 250W DE 14ks and love them. Most 14k lamps are closer to 20k lamps, the Ushio is closer to a 10K well actually closer to actually 14K. :)

I guess i should have stated this upfront. I am looking to grow out some frags so I assumed a 10k bulb would be best for this however I hate the yellow look that they produce so I was wondering if there are any 10k bulbs that don't look yellow. I am thinking about maybe sacrificing a little growth and going with a 14k bulb. Is there a major difference in growth from a 10k vs. 14k bulb?

10K's will grow them quicker, but unless you have T5 or VHO Actincs they will be very yellow. 14K will grow just fine, just slower and the asthetics will be much better than 10K. If growth is what you want go to 6500K Iwasakis, very green, but a PAR monster that causes quick growth.
