i was thinking of acan lighting for my 92 corner 2 1ft 103.i havent really researched many lighting but the ones i did i felt acan would be the best and cheapest model.going to cost me just around 1200.it will be in a canopy so i was wondering am i paying for the clean cut look of acan?is there another brand i havent seen yet that will give me the same output of light with a cheaper price but is not as pretty.if so maybe you guys can give me some other brand with an equal or greater then par as acan.

Not to sound like a bad person, you can use the search function. There are SO many threads on LED's it's getting absurd especially because most of the answers/responses are the same.
Anyway, onto the response.
First thing, I know it is difficult to find lighting for a corner tank because of it's funky dimensions (I used to have one).
Anyway, here's what you have to ask yourself.
1. What are you going to keep?
2. What's your budget?
3. How's your aquascaping going to be (where are your corals going to be placed?)
4. Do you care about appearance (you said it's in a canopy so I guess not.)
So my question with the Acan Light is can it cover the depth from the outside oval of the tank to the end? Not sure how deep the Acan Light is and what Optics options you are going for. Which Acan Light? -- outputs are different on them.
You can check out other LED Brands: Maxspect LEDs, Pacificsun LEDs, Sunbrite Systems, Aquaillumination, EcoRay, Blue Moon Aquatics, Ecoxotic, CoralSky LED, Evil66 PAR38 bulbs, Orphek LEDs, and Doing It Yourself

You may have to get them custom built cause of the whole you have on top to let the light though.. I have a half circle tank and it was a pain to figure it out but I found wingo and he custom built mine for me... Not the cheapes on the market but he worked with me to the end with making it work for my openings on the top of the tank.. I only have 1 acan and it came from wingo and it is doing great 1 head has turned into about 8 and still growing...lol I have about 2 or 3 lps and the rest of the tank is SPS about 95%.. for the most part they are doing great with the LED lights... But the way it looks your not going to save much in the pocket with LED's unless you trust the ones from china. And I have never heard anything good about those.. They dont take paypal no CC just wester union or money order, that was to shady for me so I passed...Good luck

Did you think about MH with T5 suppliments? you can light your whole tank that way instead of spending ALOT on a fixture and be limited to your coverage area. Plus the savings. On 1-2 halide retro and a T5 retro will run you about 500$ at the top end.
Something to think about. LED's are almost where they should to justify spending the massive amount of $$. For the 1200$ and no full tank coverage i would hold off or DIY on the corner tank. Just my .02

tosiek i will not go MH ever again.my electric bill went through the roof.if i spend 1200 on LED my wife wont know the difference but she sees the E bill every month haha.i will check out some of the light companies aznt sent me thanks man.

dpending on depth and configureation from what i ahve read and found, bow front tanks are the hardest to do with traditional lighting. DIY or have someone build you a DIY light fixture is the best way. lust remember when it comes to led DIY the amount of LEDs needed are for coverage, the par comes from the optics on a deeper tank. the tighter the optics the more leds you will need to overlap the colors so you dont get that spotlight effect.

Also keep in mind some of the lights posted are not long term, I know the Maxspecs have a recommended replacement date of under 3 years.

leds go by hours usually 50k hours. or at least that is the cree lights. this turns out to be aproximately 5 yrs. after that its only a 20% los so you will be running at 80%. now how high the lights are beinjg run at plays a difference as well. i mean how man ma.
