im looking to buy a calcium reactor for the first time.to get the correct size do you listen to the manufactory's size of tank maximum or is it like skimmers and always get bigger
125 - I would definately oversize - I did 10 years ago and I still have the same unit on my small scale propagation system. It was rated for 700g when I bought it for my 180g. And it's still not maxed out on the display tank with propagation adding up to a total volume of 300g.
I would not oversize that much.. They take up space and your system will only use up so much Ca, bigger CaRx means you don't have to fill it up as often, but a right sized one should be somewhat maintenance free for 6+ months.
That what I use and is one of the best on the market. This unit will scale down to handle a 100g up to 7008 system. Dual chambers help with co2 escaping .
