today i when i waked up i notice my mp20 controller box is blinking red . i disconnected the cord and waited a couple of min and plugged it again and it was running for a couple of sec then it will stop again. im going to give t it a vinegar bath today. i do have alot of coralline algae on it and ive had this pump for at least 1yr 1/2. my ? is when i unplug it and it shuts down can i just pull it off with out taking off the dry end?

If you take the wet end off without supporting the dry side it will probably fall off at some point causing damage to the dry side.

I had one do that right out of the box. I had a second one do it a few months later. Votech CS is really good and they will help you. Mine were under warranty and they covered shipping as well. If the warranty is up they may just make you cover the shipping.

I just recently had the same problem with an MP40. There is a know problem with the ceramic bearing. EcoTech has changed the parts to cotrrect this problem. I contacted EcoTech and they sent me new wet side for both of my pumps, not just the one that was defective. They also sent me new wires for my battery back up since the old wires were recalled. Great customer service. I would give them a call, but first do this:

If this does not fix your problem you will probably need a new wet side. Good luck.

I would try to recalibrate it first. If that does not work, I would call EcoTech to get the ball rolling on a replacement. You can give it a vinegar bath also, but it is unlikely that it will fix your problem. Especially since you said the pump is not badly calcified.
