I have never had any algae problems in my 90 gallon except for film algae that grows thick within a few hours! Its a pain to keep cleaning and its always been a problem. I also know that carbon will just keep the tank water cleaner overall, so I want to run carbon in my sump. I was thinking of DIYing something simple like a 1' long piece of 2" PVC hooked up to a maxi-jet or some sort of pump that pulls around 200gph and an elbow on the other end with a filter sock secured to the end and then fill the pipe with carbon or some sort of GFO. Would this work?
