Ok, so after thinking long and hard and tons of brainstorming and less emotion involved, I have decided to keep my tank and better it. I cleaned out the entire sump which had a lot of detrius. The water is much clearer. I ordered 6 red mangroves. I also ordered 20 nassarius snails and 23 ceriths to add to the tank as well as some macroalgae. I also bought a 160 gallon bucket of instant ocean. Oh, and I bought some more activated carbon and am running a new bag of it. So hopefully I can start this right again. Now, I am looking into two more maxijet powerheads to add to my wavemaker and a phosban reactor and a filter sock. I am gonna do this right this time, no short cuts, even if it means an empty tank and more patience.

The hair algae is all gone, spent hours cleaning the glass. And i upped the magnesium and it is gone. I can't seem to get the brown algae off certain spots of the sand bed, any tips? Also my powerheads are causing all microbubbles in the water so the water is never fully clear, tips? Thanks!

Welcome back, I went through a crash a couple of months ago and I am currently in the process of cycling a tank again - It stinks (literally and figuratively), but I missed the hobby too much and hopefully have learned some things in the meantime to help me avoid past mistakes. I wish you luck!
