So I'm getting a halide setup at the swap and I need to find a way to hang it. I really don't want to put L brackets in the wall. I was thinking of a way to build it out of conduit pipe, is it possible? Has anyone done it?

I've got a metal stand so I would have a hard time securing it. Any help is appreciated. I'm trying my best not to put any holes in the wall.

you can drill some pilot holes in the metal stand and get a clamping bracket to secure the conduit upright to it.make sure its a good tight fit.2 brackets on each side will hold the pipe.you will need to get a clamping type elbow to secure pipes together because you will have no way of making threads unless you bring it to someone to make the threads for u. hope this helps some.its hard to explain it on here lol

Good idea about getting the metal halides, Kris ....:D

There's a bracket you can buy (it's about $80 and from Current, IIRC).. I'll have to take a look for you.

EDIT: Here's the link:

I've seen people use metal conduit and black spray paint. There's a tool at the big box hardware stores that will allow you to bend the pipe at any angle..

.......You could also go 'super man' style and get some PVC pipe.... :lol2:
