hi guys i wanted to know if i can reuse the pad i have for my sump tray by runnin it in hot water and then rinsing it in rodi water?

Is it a sponge?

Either way, I would not run it under hot water. I would rinse it really thoroughly in tank water that you've removed for a water change. This way your biological filtration is maintained and the pad can be reused if it doesn't restrict flow after the cleaning.
