Anyway, I would like to plumb this frag tank into my DT. The DT is a 125G AGA return is a Rio 3100.
Appreciate some advise on how to plumb it using the DT sump. And what other recommendation, what return pump I should get. There will be no sand. BB only! will be getting black eggcrate next week.

Will I need a powerhead?
Lighting will be a 6 bulbs T-5 Nova Extreme Pro (working a deal with a member here)
. Again appreciate some advise.

Thanks

I don't think the return on my DT is going to be enough to T-OFF to the frag tank.
I think I have 2 option on the return.
1) upgrade the return pump on the DT. Right now is a Rio 3100GPH
Any idea what should I upgrade to?

2) buy a seperate return pump for the frag tank! the frag tank is a 15G.
Any idea what return I should buy for it?

I agree it would be cheaper buying another smaller pump, but this will also add heat to the system. I would put a mag 12 or 18 and build a manifold. this way you have plenty of flow control to both tanks, and adjustable for your demands.

A) current return on my DT Rio 3100 73 watt
If I purchase a seperate return for the frag tank - let say Mag 3 35 watt

Note: That is a total of 108 watt and no manifold is needed.

B) Mag 12 110 watt
Mag 18 145 watt

Note: The heat would be the same or more upgrading to a larger pump.
