OK,

I'm good at aquariums but I guess not so computer literate. Someody please tell me what does "BUMP" mean when I'm looking in marketplace? IE-I have blank for sale $100. Next three posts or so say "bump". What the heck does "bump" mean??

Also, a post will say, "if interested PM me".. Well I KNOW PM means private message. How do I go about sending a "PM".

Thanks. I see a lot of stuff for sale I'd be interested in but don't know how to respond. "BUMP"

bump is used to "bump" up the thread to the top of the list of threads.
If a for sale thread isn't getting hits and is getting pushed down, it will eventually go into the other pages instead of staying at the first page, where everyone will see first if they go to the marketplace.

To pm, a person, you will see underneath their name 4 icons. from left to right there is a circle, if green means that person is online, a camera, which is for that person's pictures, a chat bubble which is for reefberry, and the fourth is for pm. click that and you can send pms.

To check your pms, on EVERY page you are on, you can look the top left and you can see a link to private messages.

Thanks. I've been into aquariums for 42 years. Got my forst 10 gallon when I was 10. Started saltwater in 1987. This is forst attempt at Reef which I swore I'd never do. My 220 was a FOWLER for 3 years and I ecently decided to convert to Reef. I had NO idea the work and expense involved. I've been on a LOT of forums & found most of them, ONE major one inparticular, to be clickish sites where a few know it alls spend the majority of their time trying to prove how much they know and trying to put others down. This site & one other I've found I find to be full of informative FRIENDLY people willing to help and interested ONLY in the hobby. I have NO time, at my age, for know it alls or pettiness. Only interested in pursuing this fantastic hobby!
