Not sure if anyone does this, but thought i'd pass this along. If you are siphoning water for what ever reason and for the most part want to only capture debris, you can rubber band a micro bag or panty hose to the end of the line to capture debris. This way you can resue the water you siphoned and dont have to make water ever time you do this.

I've found this method quite useful as i did about 5 buckets of syphoning without making water.

Oh yeah!! It's the best way to get out of a water change :lol:...it really does work I know a few people who do it :icon16:
